Students need an account and your classroom’s join code. There are five ways to get them there.
Give out the join code
The simplest route. The 6-character code is on the classroom card in the Classrooms tab, and Click to copy join code copies it.
Students sign up free, then enter it under Join Class.
Send an invite link
On the classroom, open Invite students and select Copy invite link.
The link opens the app with the join code already filled in, so a student only has to sign in or sign up and confirm. Fewer characters to mistype, which matters with a code read off a screen.
Email an invitation
Invite students, then Email invite opens a prepared message with the subject Join my classroom “{name}” on ServiceDesk Simulator, containing the link, the code and the three steps.
Post it to Google Classroom
Invite students, then Share to Classroom. Google opens with your course list, and you choose the course and whether it goes out as an announcement or an assignment. The link carries the join code, so students who open it from the stream land on the join screen with the code already filled in.
Import a class list
Invite students, then Import roster. Paste a column of addresses, or choose the CSV your school system or Google Classroom gave you; the column with the email addresses is found for you.
You see the parsed list and the count before anything is sent. Send, and every address gets the class invitation with the code in it.
A few will not go out, and the panel says which and why: Already in the class, Already invited, Not an email address, Listed twice, No seat left, Daily limit reached, or The email did not send. Anyone already enrolled is skipped rather than emailed twice. There is a cap of 60 addresses per import and 300 invitations per day.
What students need to do
- Open the link, or go to the site.
- Sign in or create a free account.
- Verify their email address. This one is not optional: joining a classroom is blocked until the address is verified. It is the most common reason a student cannot join.
- Enter the code if it was not prefilled.
What they get
Unlimited access for as long as they are enrolled, at no cost to them: no daily ticket or call limit, plus voicemails and mock interviews. They do not enter any payment details.
They also get a welcome email naming your class and organisation, which is what the Organization field on the classroom is for.
Seats
Each classroom shows {count} licenses available, or All seats filled when it is full. A student cannot join a full classroom. Remove an inactive student, or raise the seat count, to make room.
Removing a student
Go to the Students tab and select Remove on the student. It is only on that tab, not on the classroom cards. They get You have been removed from the classroom., lose the classroom access, and keep everything they earned. It frees the seat.
