The four types

Count-Based Any tickets and calls count toward the target. The form says Students complete any tickets/calls to reach the required count. Good for “do 10 tickets this week”.

By Ticket Type Only the categories you pick count. The form says Students complete tickets of the selected types to reach the required count. Good for aiming a week at networking, or at accounts and access.

Pick at least one category, or you get Select at least one ticket type. The form also tells you how many tickets exist for the types you chose, so you do not set a target the queue cannot supply.

When you create one of these, matching tickets are picked out for the class, and students pull them in with Claim tickets to your queue.

Specific tickets You pick the exact tickets from the whole catalog. The form says Pick the exact tickets. They land in each student’s queue when they claim the assignment. The selection is the required work, so there is no ticket or call count to set.

Learn modules You pick modules from the course under Tools → Modules. The form says Pick modules from Tools → Modules. Students read each one to the end. A module counts as done when the student reaches its last page. Students open each module from the assignment itself, with Open next to its name, and the module list in the simulator marks the ones a teacher set as Assigned. Pick at least one, or you get Pick at least one module.

Tickets and calls

Set Tickets required and Calls required. At least one has to be non-zero: Require at least one ticket or call.

Two things about how calls count, taken from the form itself:

  • Voicemails and answered calls both count toward call requirements.
  • On a category-limited assignment, Calls and voicemails count only when they match the selected ticket types.

Worth knowing before you set a call target on a narrow category, because it is harder than it looks.

Track progress

Open the assignment and select View Student Progress. It updates live, showing each student’s Tickets, Calls and Status. A Learn modules assignment shows Modules in their place.

The Overview tab summarises it as {met}/{total} students met the goal.

Submissions

Each assignment has a Submission report splitting students into Submitted on time, Submitted late and Not submitted.

Students can submit after the due date and it is flagged as late rather than refused, so you decide how to treat it rather than the app deciding for you.

Closing and archiving

Close assignment stops further submissions. Students see it marked Closed with This assignment was closed by your teacher. Reopen assignment undoes it.

Archive assignment moves it out of the active list without closing it. Restore assignment brings it back.

Delete Assignment removes it entirely.

Overdue assignments stay active, so late work still comes in until you close them.

Past assignments

View past assignments shows finished ones. The hint explains what lands there: Assignments will appear here once their due date has passed.
