Creating an account is free and does not ask for a card. You need an email address you can open, because the account is not usable until you click a verification link.
Sign up with an email address
- Go to servicedesk-simulator.com and select Sign Up in the top right, or open /signup directly.
- Pick an avatar under Choose Your Avatar. This is what other players see on the leaderboard.
- Fill in Username. It must be 3 to 24 characters, and it can only contain letters, numbers, underscores and hyphens. It cannot start or end with an underscore or a hyphen.
- Fill in Real name (First name and Last name) if you want to. It is optional and it is only used for the certificates you can share later. You can add it afterwards under Settings, then Profile, then Name on certificates, but note that once a name is saved you get only one correction, so it is worth typing carefully either way.
- Fill in Email.
- Fill in Password and Confirm Password. The password needs at least 8 characters and must include an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character. It cannot contain spaces.
- Tick the agreement checkbox. It covers the Terms, Privacy and Disclaimer, and confirms you are 13 or older. You cannot create an account without it.
- Leave Share anonymous analytics to help us constantly improve the site ticked or untick it. It is on by default and it changes nothing about how the app works.
- Select Create Account.
You are then taken to the email verification screen. See Verify your email address.
Sign up with Google
Select Sign up with Google underneath the form and pick your Google account. Google accounts skip the password fields, and you will not have a password to change later.
If you sign up with Google, you must also sign in with Google every time. Typing the same email address into the password form will fail with Invalid email or password, because there is no password on the account.
What the form rejects
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
Username must be at least 3 characters | Use a longer username. |
Username must be 24 characters or less | Shorten it. 24 is the maximum the account can store. |
Username can only contain letters, numbers, underscores, and hyphens | Remove spaces, dots and other symbols. |
Username cannot start or end with _ or - | Move the underscore or hyphen into the middle. |
Please enter a valid email address | Check for typos. The address also has to be 254 characters or fewer. |
Password must contain a special character (!@#$%^&*) | Add one. The same applies for a missing uppercase letter, lowercase letter or number. |
Password is too common, choose a stronger one | Pick something other than an obvious password. |
Passwords do not match | Retype Confirm Password. |
You must agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy | Tick the agreement checkbox. |
If you already have an account on that address, the form does not say so. It takes you to the verification screen exactly as though you had signed up, which is deliberate: it means nobody can use the signup form to discover whether an address is registered here. If you were expecting a new account and land on a verification screen for an address you recognise, try signing in instead.
