Accounts created with an email address and password land on a screen headed Check Your Email instead of going straight into the simulator. Verifying proves the address is yours, and it is also what lets you join a classroom later.

If you signed up with Google, there is nothing to do here. Google has already confirmed the address, so you go straight into the app.

Verify

  1. Open the inbox for the address shown on screen under We sent a verification link to.
  2. Click the link in the email.
  3. Come back to the tab with the app open.

The screen checks your verification status every five seconds on its own, so it usually moves you into the app without you doing anything else. If it does not, select I’ve Verified My Email.

If the email is not there, check the spam folder. The screen says the same thing: Didn't receive the email? Check your spam folder.

Resend the email

Select Resend Verification Email. After a send, the button is replaced by a countdown reading Resend in {seconds}s and will not send again for 60 seconds.

What the messages mean

Email not verified yet. Please check your inbox and click the verification link. The check reached our servers and the address is genuinely still unverified. Open the email and click the link.

Couldn't check your verification status. Check your connection and try again. The check itself did not get through. This is a network problem, not a problem with the email. Nothing is wrong with your inbox.

That verification link has already been used or has expired. Send a new one below. The link is spent. Select Resend Verification Email and use the newest one. Old links stop working once a newer one is sent.

Use a different address

If you typed the address wrong, select Use a different account to sign out and start again with the correct one.
