If you are a student, you can verify a school email address and get 30% off Pro, for as long as you keep the subscription.

Verify

  1. Open the upgrade screen and find the student discount panel at the bottom. It starts collapsed behind a control reading Student? Get 30% off.
  2. Enter your school email address into the field, which is placeheld you@school.edu.
  3. Select Send code.
  4. Check that inbox for a 6-digit code. The panel confirms We sent a 6-digit code to your address.
  5. Enter the code and select Verify.

You must be signed in first. If you are not, the panel says Sign in first, then verify your student status.

Use the code

Once verified you get You’re verified and a code, with the instruction to Enter this code at checkout. The panel also has Copy code, and the same code is emailed to you: We also emailed this code to your school inbox.

Then upgrade as normal and paste the code into Stripe’s checkout page.

If you already have a Pro subscription, verify from Settings, then Billing rather than from the upgrade screen. Verifying there applies the discount to your existing subscription directly, with nothing to paste. Verifying from the upgrade screen gives you a code for checkout instead, which is no help if you are already subscribed.

If your school is not recognised

You get We’re checking your school and We don’t recognize {domain} yet. We’ll check it and email you within a day.

Your address goes into a review queue that is checked several times a day, and a person sees anything the check is unsure about. Wait for the email.

How long the discount lasts

The 30% stays on the subscription for as long as you keep it. Cancel and resubscribe later and you are back at the normal price, because the code is single-use and already spent.

Codes issued before this changed ran for a fixed number of months instead. If yours did, the panel and the email you were sent say so, and that is what applies to it.

A link ending in ?student opens the app with this panel already expanded, which is the shareable entry point if somebody sends you the offer.

If it does not work

Something went wrong. Try again shortly. is a temporary failure. Try again in a few minutes.

If your school address is rejected repeatedly and you are certain it is a school domain, email support@servicedesk-simulator.com from that address.
