Open the profile menu, select Settings, then Profile.

Display name

Change it under Display Name and save. This is the name on the leaderboard and in social features. It can be changed as often as you like.

It has to be 2 to 24 characters. Unlike the signup form, it accepts spaces, apostrophes and full stops as well as letters, numbers, underscores and hyphens, so a display name like Sam O'Neill is fine here. Some names are reserved and will be refused, such as admin, support and staff.

Avatar

Pick a new one under Avatar. The description is Choose the avatar shown on your profile and leaderboard. Change it whenever.

Name on certificates

This is a different field and it behaves differently. It is the name printed on any certificate you share and on its public verification page, so it is meant to be your real name.

Set it under Name on certificates, with First name and Last name.

You get one change. The panel says: Printed on the certificates you share and on their public verification page. You get one change, so check the spelling.

Once used, the field locks and reads: You have used your one change. Email support@servicedesk-simulator.com if the name is still wrong.

Two things worth knowing:

  • Adding a name for the first time does not use up your change. If you never set one, entering it now is free and you still have your one correction afterwards. The panel confirms this while it applies: You can still change it once after saving.
  • The limit is enforced on our servers, not just in the form, so there is no way around it in the browser.

Errors you may see: Enter your first and last name. if either is blank, That is already your name. if nothing changed, and Could not save your name. Please try again. on a failure.

If you have used your change and the name is still wrong, email support from your account address. It can be fixed manually.

When the name becomes public

Setting the name does not publish anything. It becomes visible on the public verification page only once you share, open, copy or download a credential. Before that, the page shows your username. See Share a certificate.
