By default, picking a tool from the Tools menu fills the screen and the ticket goes away. Split screen keeps both visible.
Turn it on
- Open a ticket.
- At the top right of the ticket, turn on Split screen view.
- Open the Tools menu and pick a tool. It opens in a pane beside the ticket.
The toggle’s tooltip explains it: When on, tools open beside the ticket instead of full-screen.
While split screen is off, the ticket carries a line pointing at the feature: Open a tool from the Tools menu to work on it beside this ticket. Turning the toggle on is what makes it happen.
Swapping tools
With a tool already in the split pane, picking a different one from the Tools menu replaces it. You do not need to close the first one.
It is a desktop feature
The Split screen view toggle only appears on large screens. On narrower windows and on phones the ticket and the tool are shown as tabs instead, which is the same idea in the space available, so the toggle would not mean anything there.
What keeps its state
Most tools reset when you reopen them: Directory clears its search and selected user, Remote Desktop clears its search, Asset Management clears its search and selected user.
Documentation deliberately does not reset. Players hop between the docs and another tool while following a procedure, and losing the open article every time was worse than the inconsistency.
